Ok so we’re on the plane home from Brisbane – it’s 6am in the morning, we’re looking for some healthy breakfast?????
The choices are appalling….They consisted of:
- Toasted sandwiches on inch thick white bread
- Croissants or other pastries
- Pies???(at 6am in the morning – what is going on???)
- Sugar loaded muffins on refined flours
The only decent option was fresh fruit and yoghurt – however if you’re dairy intolerant(like Liz) – fresh fruit for the next 4 hours is your option.
I(liz) love fresh fruit but when you’re trying to hit the ground running – high on fructose is not necessarily the most effective fuel.
Bring on the healthy carbs and protein, maybe some beans? eggs? wholesome muffins (like our savoury breakfast muffin!!)
Is a ham, egg and rye wrap too much to ask – surely there is loads of us health conscious travelers out there, needing and wanting this…….
Anyway we’re about to land, high on fructose, starving, slightly dizzy and nauseous- off to find eggs!
Next time we chat we’ll be refuelled and not on the soap box……
